WISHING WELL WORDING

WISHING WELL POEM WORDING 1

More than just kisses so far we've shared
our home has been made with love and care

Most things we need we’ve already got
like a toaster and kettle, pans and pots

A wishing well we thought would be great
(but only if you wish to participate)

A gift of money is placed in the well
then make a wish … but do not tell

Once we’ve replaced the old with the new
we can look back and say

it was thanks to you!

And in return for your kindness we’re sure
that one day soon you'll get what you wished for!

WISHING WELL POEM WORDING 2

They have their dishes and towels for two
they have pots and pans and oven mitts too

So what do you get for the Bride & Groom
whose house is setup in every room?

Their house needs repairs and some upgrades too,

but you can not register for carpet and glue.
A well that holds wishes is the way to go
so lets make it easy for all that know.

An envelope will be provided for those who have room,

to give a monetary wish to the Bride and Groom
A wishing well will be on display
at the reception hall

to attach your wishes for the couple,

with love from all.

WISHING WELL POEM WORDING 3

The tradition of the wishing well
used on the wedding day,
is here both for your money gifts
and for what you would like to say.

So please drop in a token of love
for this special Groom & Bride,
as they start their life united by God
to live forever side by side.

WISHING WELL POEM WORDING 4

Our home is quite complete now, we've been together long.
So please consider our request, and do not take us wrong.
A delicate request it is, we hope you understand.
Please play along, as it will give our married life a hand.

The tradition of the wishing well,is one that's known by all.
Go to the well, toss in a coin and as the coin does fall
make a wish upon that coin, and careful as you do.
‘Cause as the well's tradition goes, your wishes will come true.

So on this special day of ours, the day that we'll be wed
don't hunt for special gifts but give money in it's stead.
And as you drop the envelope, with money great and small,
remember, make your wish as you watch your money fall.

WISHING WELL WORDING POEM 5

Because at first we lived in sin
we've got the sheets and a rubbish bin
A gift from you would be swell
but we'd prefer a donation to our Wishing Well!!

WISHING WELL POEM WORDING 6

Soon you will hear our wedding bell,
as Friends and family wish us well.

Our household thoughts are not brand new,
we have twice the things we need for two.

Since we have our share of dishes and bedding,

we're having instead a wishing well wedding.

But more important we ask of you,
your prayers of love and blessings too!

WISHING WELL POEM WORDING 7

This wishing well is here today for family and friends.

Take an envelope, make a wish and please drop it in.

As it falls into the well your wish,

for the couple, will come true.

A token for the couple, to help them begin,

will be welcomed, too.

Please take the time to make a wish

before the day is through.

WISHING WELL POEM WORDING 8

Now we are to be Mr & Mrs
we don't need a wedding list of dishes
we have two kettles, two toasters, two microwaves
we require a house for which we have to save.

If you would like to give us a gift,
a cheque or vouchers would give us a lift

We like to think of it as our 'Wishing Well'
which will be filled with your love, we can tell.

WISHING WELL POEM WORDING 9

So what do you get for the Bride and Groom
whose house needs things in every room?

When shopping for a present
please, don’t be rash
as the option is there to just give cash!

We hope that you don’t find
our request to be funny
but the decision is yours
to buy a present, or give money

Now you have the choice
please do not fuss
The most important thing of all
is that you come celebrate with us!

WISHING WELL POEM WORDING 10

If you were thinking of giving a gift,

to help us on our way

A gift of cash towards our house,

would really make our day.

However, if you prefer to purchase a gift,

feel free to surprise us in your own way.

WISHING WELL POEM WORDING 11

We've been together a few years now,
we have pots and pans and linen and towels
we have glasses and toasters, really quite a few
so instead of more gifts, we suggest this to you

If it doesn't offend and it won't send you running
what we would really appreciate is quite simply money
we know choosing gifts can be such a pain;
and this way there is no chance of bringing the same.

WISHING WELL POEM WORDING 12

We really would appreciate a little money of our own,
instead of a little gift for our new home!

We know you want to find something nice
but it's such a hassle to find the right price

So come and enjoy the day all sunny
we really would appreciate a little money.

WISHING WELL POEM WORDING 13

To save you looking, shopping or buying.
here is an idea, we hope you like trying.

Come to our wedding, to wish us both well.
And bring this small sack,

to throw in our wishing well.

Fill it with paper all colours will do,

gold is our favourite but silver will do.

Now that we have saved you all of that fuss.
we hope you will come and celebrate with us.

WISHING WELL POEM WORDING 14

Many of our guests have enquired
For a gift idea to be inspired

like many young couples today
we have most things anyway

If you would like to give, it is our request
for something for our treasure chest

A gift of money you can afford
is just what we need you can be assured

Without the help of this little pun
our honeymoon would not be much fun!

WISHING WELL POEM WORDING 15

In our house we have the things
that living together normally brings
most household items we've already bought
and because of this reason we thought

A wishing well would be great
(only if guests wish to participate)
A gift of money is placed in an envelope
so in the future we hope
to furnish our home to its very best
and always remember it was due to our guests.

WISHING WELL POEM WORDING 16

Friends, as you are aware we already have most items needed to 'set up house'. This is the reason for us choosing a wedding wishing well. At the reception there will be a wishing well in which we would love to receive your greeting card and contribution.

This will be a great way for us to pool together and buy ourselves something quite luxurious, or to make our honeymoon even better.

WISHING WELL POEM WORDING 17

Your presence at our wedding is present enough!
But if we're honoured with a gift from you,
May we respectfully request a gift of money
to help the building of our dream home come true!

WISHING WELL POEM WORDING 18

We are sending out this invitation,
and hope you will join our celebration.

If to send a gift is your intention,
in modesty we would like to mention,

we have already got a kettle and a toaster,
crockery, dinner mats and coasters

So rather than something we have already got,
please give us money for our saving pot.

But, most importantly, we request,
that you turn up as our wedding guest!

WISHING WELL POEM WORDING 19

For a long time we have lived in sin
we have all the stuff even a rubbish bin

A gift from you would be just swell
or perhaps a donation to our Wishing Well

Don't go overboard or rob the bank
just a small donation & we'll say "thanks"

So come to our wedding & party away
Help us to make this a wonderful day.

WISHING WELL POEM WORDING 20

Because we haven’t lived in sin
we don’t have a house to put gifts in.
Warranties and vouchers run out of date
and it might be a while before we cohabitate.

So to save from presents gathering dust

we were hoping to start an engagement trust.

A wishing well we thought would be great,
(But only if you wish to participate),

A gift of money is placed in the well,
then make a wish .... but shhh don't tell!

So when the time comes for us to move in

we’ll be able to afford the toaster and rubbish bin.

And the things that we’ll have all shiny and new

we can look back and say it was all thanks to you!

WISHING WELL POEM WORDING 21

To support us on our special day

you may wish to follow with tradition

and bring a gift.

Or alternatively you may like to help us

make our honeymoon a little more special.

For this reason we have chosen

a wedding wishing well.

The wishing well will be at the reception

where we can receive

your best wishes and contribution.

WISHING WELL POEM WORDING 22

We'd love to have you with us when all our dreams come true.
but at the risk of being bold we ask one thing of you.

We're both a trifle more mature than most who tie the knot
and consequently have most things younger folk do not.

We're on our way to <insert destination> for our honeymoon
a holiday for us to share that hasn't come too soon.

So if you're thinking of a gift and don't know what to get
a gift of cash would help us most and get us on that jet.

But most of all we'd love you there on our special date
to share with us our happiness and help us celebrate.

WISHING WELL POEM WORDING 23

If choosing a gift you dread, then place a note in here instead.

How much to give I hear you say, any amount will be ok.

At the wedding we will provide,

a wishing well to place your gift inside.

A gift of money is placed in the well,
then make a wish... but shhh don't tell!

Once we've replaced the old with the new,
we can look back and say it was thanks to you!

And in return for your kindness, we're sure
that one day soon you will get what you wished for.

WISHING WELL POEM WORDING 24

Our worldly possessions are plentiful as such,

On our wedding present list there really isn't much,

A gift of currency is all we ask, to help us on our life long task.

WISHING WELL POEM WORDING 25

To save you looking, shopping and buying,
here is an idea we hope you'll like trying!

Come to our wedding to wish us both well,
And make some use of our little wishing well.

Just put some money into a card,
now make a wish.... see, that wasn't hard!

Now that we have saved you all of the fuss,
we hope that you will come and celebrate with us!

WISHING WELL POEM WORDING 26

If finding a gift is hard to do
our wishing well is just for you!
A gift of money is placed in the well,
then make a wish but do not tell!
If it is however a gift you find,
please feel assured we will not mind.

WISHING WELL POEM WORDING 27

Your presence at our wedding is present enough,
so don’t worry about what to buy
as we have plenty of stuff!

However, if you were thinking of giving a gift
to help us on our way,
A gift of money towards our own home
would really make our day.

TREASURE CHESTS, MONEY TREES & BIRD CAGES

TREASURE CHEST WORDING 1

To save you looking, shopping and buying,
Heres an idea we hope you like trying.
As we have all the little things we require,
Some money for bigger things is what we desire.

So pop your gift into a card,
It really isn't all that hard.
Place your envelope in our "Treasure Chest'
And we will shop for what is best.
Now that we've saved you all that fuss,
We hope you will come and celebrate with us.

TREASURE CHEST WORDING 2

If choosing a gift you dread,

then place a note in here instead.

How much to give I hear you say,

any amount will be ok.

At the wedding we will provide,

a treasure chest to place your gift inside.

TREASURE CHEST WORDING 3

In our house we have the things
that living together normally brings
most household items we've already bought
and because of this reason we thought
A treasure chest would be great
(only if guests wish to participate)

A gift of money is placed in an envelope
so in the future we hope
to furnish our home to its very best
and always remember it was due to our guests.

TREASURE CHEST WORDING 4

We made a commitment some time ago
that together through life we were destined to go.

We purchased our furniture, linen and bedding,
in the fulfilling years leading up to our wedding.

What else we might need would just be a guess,
but what would help us so much

is a gift in our treasure chest.

TREASURE CHEST WORDING 5

On this our special wedding day
we would just like to say
we have a house with contents too
so presents would not really do.

But if a gift you'd like to bring
a gift for our treasure chest would be the thing.
We hope this will not cause offence
but in our case it makes more sense.

MONEY TREE WORDING 1

I’m just a little money tree
With lots of branches, bare as can be!
But you can make my branches bloom
With good things for the bride and groom!

Please take your gift and give me leaves
To make my branches full and green!
For the newlyweds I’ll be a blessing
I'll give them all their nest is missing!

MONEY TREE WORDING 2

We hope that you will join us, on this special day,
to celebrate our union in a very special way.
To make it easy for you and avoid a shopping spree,
we thought that we would have a little money tree.

Because we've been together for a little while now,
we collected all our household things

before we took our vows.

An envelope has been included for you to bless our tree,
if you like, no name is required, as anonymity is the key!
So please don't be offended at our new request,
just telling everyone our wish, has put us to the test.

BIRD CAGE WORDING 1

Many guests have enquired for a gift inspired ~
A Bird Cage we thought would be great,
but only if you wish to participate.

A gift of money is placed in the cage,

to help us advance to our next life stage.
If it is however a gift you find,

please be assured we will not mind.

BIRD CAGE WORDING 2

If finding a gift is hard to do, then our bird cage is just for you!

A gift of money is placed in the cage

and will help us advance to our next life stage.
If it is however a gift you find, we're sure a place for it we'll find. Most important is your presence this day and night,

as our wedding without you just won't be right.

BIRD CAGE WORDING 3

We two love birds have it all...

Family, Friends and Love galore.

If a gift you intend to help our nest,

and need some help may we suggest

a contribution to our bird cage

will help us along to our next life stage!
Most important is your presence this day and night
as our wedding without you just won't be right.

BIRD CAGE WORDING 4

Soon you will hear our wedding bells

as friends and family wish us well!

Our household thoughts are not brand new,
we have twice the things we need for two!
Since we have our share of dishes and bedding,
we're having instead a bird cage at our wedding.
Just slip your gift of money between the wire,
and then we can shop for what our hearts desire!

Most importantly we request,

that you join us as our wedding guest.

BIRD CAGE WORDING 5

Like birds who build their homes with care,
we have every little stick and chair.

Our nestled home of love is great,

but we do plan to update!

A birdcage will be at our reception for our guests
who would like to add funds to help our nest!
But most importantly we request,
is that you join us as our wedding guest!

GIFT REGISTRY, HONEYMOON REGISTRY & GIFT VOUCHER WORDING

GIFT REGISTRY 1

Many of our friends and family have asked for gift suggestions. As we already have many items to start our new lives together, we have placed a suggestion list with “STORE NAME”. This list can be viewed instore or online.

Reference No: _____

Website _____________

GIFT REGISTRY 2

Your presence at our Wedding is the greatest gift of all. However, if you wish to honour us with a gift, we have registered a list with "STORE NAME". You can view it online by entering our registry ID number #00000, or at any store.

GIFT VOUCHERS 1

On this our special wedding day
we would just like to say

We have a house with contents too
so presents would not really do.

But if a gift you'd like to bring
A *____________* voucher would be the thing.

We hope this will not cause offence
but in our case it makes more sense.

GIFT VOUCHERS 2

Now we are to be Mr & Mrs

We don't need a wedding list of dishes

We have two kettles, two toasters, a microwave

We require a house for which we have to save.

If you would like to give us a gift

A *__________* voucher would give us a lift

We like to think of it as our "Wishing Well"

Which will be filled with your love, we can tell.

HONEYMOON REGISTRY 1

Now we are to be Mr & Mrs

we don't need a wedding list of dishes.

A holiday is what we need,

so your help with this would be a great gift indeed.

So should you wish to honour us with a gift,

we have registered a honeymoon registry

at Flight Centre where you can make a contribution

to help us make a honeymoon

a memory that will last a lifetime.

HONEYMOON REGISTRY/WISHING WELL 2

We're on our way to _____________________

for a romantic honeymoon,

a holiday for us to share that hasn't come too soon.

So if you're thinking of a gift and are not sure what to get,

a gift of cash would help us most to get us on that jet.

But most of all we'd love you there on our special date,

to share with us our happiness and help us celebrate.

HONEYMOON WISHING WELL 4

We’ve collected most things over the years

from household appliances, to linen and holiday souvenirs

With everyone travelling from afar

it may be hard to fit a present in the car

Our wish is only to see you on the day

celebrating in your own special way

But if you still wish to give a gift

we’d love you giving our honeymoon fund a little lift

Place your gift in an envelope

and wish for all your dreams and hopes

ADULTS ONLY RECEPTION

Letting your guest's know your wedding is for guests 18 years and over can be a sensitive issue for some. Here are some suggestions on how to inform your guests politely:

  • Let your guests know by word of mouth or a quick phone call: Let your bridal party and family know your intentions, so they can pass the information onto other guests. You can also contact guests with children directly to let them know well in advance of the day, so they can make arrangements.

  • Personalise your invitations with guests names: address your invitations and envelopes to exactly who is invited, to clarify's who is welcome to attend.

  • Include a small note on your information inserts or wedding website: printing 'adults only' centre on the invitation can be too direct. Instead, include a polite note with your wedding information (such as on an information card enclosed with the invitations or your wedding website). For example, "We regret that we are unable to accommodate guests under the age of 18 at the reception". Also consider assisting your guests by providing information on babysitting options in the area.
